Having witnessed three dimensional environments related remotely by video cameras, Ms. York chose to concentrate on the technological aspects of virtual reality. Tina York TITLE: "2092 A.D." The artist has coined the term "abstract realism" to describe her work. The concept of the is based on the STS-49 Endeavour mission (May 7 -16,1992) and the capture of the intelsat satellite. The shuttle has been transformed abstractly into a road reaching deep into space. The robot arm on the right and the astronaut support mechanism on the left have been transformed into futuristic looking antennae. The Satellite itself above the road is supposed to resemble a futuristic hover craft. Each symbol adds up to one coordinated and whole thought. Art size: 48" x 36"
Tina York TITLE: "Fluid Dynamics" The study of fluid dynamics attempts to explain what happens to an object when it encounters the friction of atmospheric resistance (such as a plane encountering resistance as it speeds through the air). The artist has decided to depict the effect of air flow as a plane or other flying objects move through the air. Art size: 44" x 35-1/2"
