The Wright Flyer

A full-sized, aerodynamically exact replica of the 1903 Wright Brothers' plane—the Wright Flyer—has been built by volunteers under the guidance of AIAA engineers and is now in the massive dirigible hanger at NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, Calif. In January 1999 the aerodynamics of the Flyer, the oldest airplane in the world, will be tested in the largest wind tunnel in the world.

A website will have historical sections as well as suggestions and ideas for teachers on how to incorporate the information into their classroom curricula.

The website will be an evolving one, offering new information at least monthly. The link to the Wright Flyer page will be from the Quest homepage.
