OCTOBER IS NATIONAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual health campaign designed to promote awareness, provide education for early detection and also offer information and support to those affected by the disease.

The American Cancer Society recommends annual mammogram and monthly breast self-examination for women 40 and over. Women aged 20-39 should perform monthly breast self-examinations and request a clinical breast exam every 3 years.
