The Application Software Development team manages custom applications developed by the HITSS contract team as well as Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) software applications hosted at NASA Headquarters.

Custom developed applications follow a Standard Development Life Cycle (SDLC) which documents all phases of the development process. The SDLC, related milestones and artifacts are defined in the Software Management Guide (SMG). The SMG defines all applicable NASA and Federal regulations and procedures that must be followed by applications deployed at NASA Headquarters.

To request a new custom application or a change to an existing custom application, use the ITCD Work Management System (IWMS) to submit a Service Request (SR). If you need assistance writing an SR, contact your HITSS Project Manager. Use the IT Coordination Mechanism to identify your IT contacts.
