Identity Management and Account Exchange (IdMAX)
IdMAX is the Agency gateway to access the tools you need to obtain a NASA badge, gain access to IT systems, and update your personal information in NASA’s public information directories. The following IdMAX tools are available:

IdMAX Tools
NASA’s Account Management System (NAMS)
The Agency’s centralized system for requesting and maintaining accounts for NASA IT systems and applications.

The new Agency tool that allows users to change e-mail aliases and how names appear in the Global Address List (GAL) and the NASA Enterprise Directory (NED).

Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Process
The Agency’s new tool by which new badges are requested. The PIV tool governs identity management.

Remote User Identity
A subprocess of the PIV process. Used to request a badge and IT access for a temporary NASA worker (less than 180 days) or a worker who does not require physical access to a NASA facility.

To Obtain an IdMAX account
You must have an IdMAX account to use the tools within the IdMAX system. To activate your IdMAX account, visit idmax.nasa.gov and click on “First Time User.”
