Introducing NAMS: NASA’s New Approach to Account Management
The NASA Account Management System (NAMS) is the Agency’s centralized system for requesting and maintaining accounts for NASA IT systems and applications.
Initially, Headquarters users will only use NAMS to request access
to a few Agency applications. All other requests will be processed
through Check In Check Out as usual. All HQ and Agency applications
will be integrated into NAMS in a phased approach over the next
year or two. Eventually, access and deactivation requests for all
applications will be processed through NAMS.

IEMP Access Requests
Integrated Enterprise Management Program (IEMP) applications are some of the first to be integrated into NAMS. Users who wish to gain or modify their access to IEMP applications will submit their requests in NAMS beginning December 10, 2007. The NHQ Form 1700, previously required for IEMP access requests, is only required for external users without access to NAMS.
What about Check In Check Out?
For now, NAMS will be used in parallel with Check In Check Out (CICO). Full implementation of NAMS will occur in phases over the next 3 to 5 years, with moderate-security level applications being added first, followed by low-security level applications. The NAMS@HQ Web page will provide a current list of which applications are managed in CICO and which are managed in NAMS.
NAMS will not replace CICO, even when all applications have been migrated. Users will continue to use CICO to request a physical asset, such as a computer, telephone, or BlackBerry device.
Requesting a NAMS Account
Anyone with access to i-View can login to NAMS using their i-View username and password. Those without access to i-View may establish access to NAMS by following these instructions for obtaining an account.
