Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 Upgrade
On Tuesday, March 27, 2007, ODIN will begin deploying the Systems Management Server client (SMS) 2003 to all Windows XP users. SMS 2003 is a tool used to improve security patch management, application deployment, and asset management.
The upgrade of SMS 2003 will occur in two phases:
- Phase I (March 27): The SMS 1.2 client will be uninstalled from your computer using your log in script.
- Phase II (April 10): The SMS 2003 client will be installed with an automated silent update from the SMS server.
REMINDER: Please remember to connect to the network and reboot your computer each day to allow the loading of silent updates such as SMS.
