Remote Access to Agency and HQ Systems

Many NASA applications and Web sites now require you to be connected to the NASA HQ network to gain access.  To connect to the network from outside the HQ building, you need a SecurID token. This token is a critical element for telework and continuity of operations during emergency situations.

SecurID Token

A SecurID token is a portable device with two-factor authentication allowing users to access resources remotely via the Virtual Private Network (VPN) or using Secure Nomadic Access (SNA).  New HQ users are issued a SecurID token as part of their standard accounts.

Remote Access Options

You have several options for remote access, all of which require a SecurID token:

• Secure Nomadic Access (SNA)
• Virtual Private Network (VPN) (also requires a NASA-issued laptop)
• Dial-in Service (also requires a NASA-issued laptop)

Note: For full functionality, it is recommended to use a NASA-issued laptop for remote access.
