FUNDAMENTAL AERONAUTICS - ANNUAL MEETING

The 2009 Fundamental Aeronautics Program Annual Meeting will once again be held in Atlanta, Georgia, from September 29 - October 1, 2009. This year's location is the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel on historic Peachtree Street in the heart of Atlanta.

Each year, the Fundamental Aeronautics Program convenes a national conclave to continue and deepen an ongoing dialogue about issues related to aeronautics research in the United States. For three days, NASA researchers present their recent findings in four parallel tracks, with between-session breaks that encourage conversation, questions, and new ideas. Attendees include our federal partners along with industry, academia, the international community, and researchers from NASA's Ames, Dryden, Glenn, and Langley Research Centers. Last year's event at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel featured approximately 120 presentations.

The 2009 Fundamental Aeronautics Annual Meeting will kick off with an evening reception at the hotel on Monday September 28. A plenary session will be held the morning of Tuesday September 29, followed by 2.5 days of technical sessions led by the Subsonic Fixed Wing, Subsonic Rotary Wing, Supersonics, and Hypersonics Projects.

A luncheon for attendees will be held on Wednesday September 30; that evening, teams participating in this year's student design competition will present their concepts to have an environmentally friendly, low-boom commercial aircraft operational by 2020.

Please join us for the NASA Fundamental Aeronautics Program 2009 Annual Meeting at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel.
