A Re-shaped Aeronautics Program (2006)
In January 2006, the ARMD announced a re-shaping of its programs to
focus on the core competencies of aeronautics in all flight regimes,
from subsonic to hypersonic. Research will be focused in areas
appropriate to NASA Aeronautics' unique capabilities, and will be
directly aligned with the needs of the Next Generation Air
Transportation System (NGATS).
Following are presentations given on January 12, 2006, at the 44th
annual AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting in Reno, Nevada. The
presentations provide overviews of the new design as of January 2006 for
each program. Detailed research roadmaps were presented at the time for
three of the four programs.
