Ms. Olga M. Dominguez

Olga Dominguez is the Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Office of Management Systems in Washington DC. As the Deputy, she provides support to the Assistant Administrator and the NASA Administrator on leadership, management oversight, guidance, and coordination of institutional management systems, processes, and facilities for environmental, real property, logistics, aircraft, management controls, and ISO 9001. Ms. Dominguez is a member of the Department of Defense Joint Group on Pollution Prevention representing NASA's interests within this forum and in the international community. Previously at NASA, she was the Director of the Environmental Management Division. As director, she was responsible for establishing Agency environmental policy and guidance, developing, advocating and managing Agency-level environmental budgets, and providing support to the NASA Administrator on environmental issues. She joined NASA Headquarters in 1990 and became a member of the United States of America Senior Executive Service in 1998. Previously, she directed the Environmental Program for the Navy's David Taylor Research Laboratories and was a lead enforcement inspector for the State of Maryland's Department of the Environment and the Prince Georges Health Department.
Ms. Dominguez has received several medals and awards since coming to NASA. They include the Presidential Award for Leadership in Energy Management from President Bush in 2001; Stennis Space Centers Frontline Award; NASA's Cooperative External Achievement Award; NASA's Medal for Outstanding Leadership; she was named as one of "The 80 Elite Hispanic Women" by the Hispanic Business magazine in April of 2002; and she received the Presidents Meritorious Executive Rank award in 2002.
Ms. Dominguez's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Fish and Wildlife Management with emphasis in Zoology. She brings over twenty-four years experience in environmental management spanning local, state and federal governments. Ms. Dominguez's career has spanned many levels and challenges including enforcement, design, audit, oversight, budget development and advocacy, development of field and corporate level policy and guidance, process reengineering, and leadership. She and her family reside in Annapolis, MD.
