The Mission Support Division provides the primary interface with the customers of the Office of Safety and Mission Assurance; i.e., the NASA Mission Directorates and the center Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) organization in this role, it provides, oversight, policy and procedural guidance and support.
The Division ensures the stability, capability, and implementation of an effective SMA program, which includes safety, reliability, quality assurance, and risk management tailored to Mission Directorate programs and projects. The Mission Support Division monitors compliance of Mission Directorate SMA processes with NASA policies and guidance, assuring that Mission Directorates achieves their safety and mission success objectives.
Center SMA organizations provide the program and project level technical support, insight, and independent assessments.
Each Center SMA organization provides an Annual Operating Agreement (AOA) to the Mission Support Division that details the SMA products and services they provide to their Enterprise customers.
