NASA Headquarters employees, or applicants for employment, who believe that they have been discriminated against on the bases of race, color, national origin, sex (to include sexual orientation or pregnancy discrimination), religion, age, retaliation, genetic information, or physical and/or mental disability must contact a Headquarters Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Counselor within 45 days of the date of the alleged discriminatory act. At the initial interview the EEO Counselor will listen to the issues, clarify the basis of the complaint, inform the individual of his or her rights, and provide information on the options available for seeking resolution, including the use of the Headquarters Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program. Through the ADR Program, a mediator is used to facilitate discussions between the disputing parties to encourage a mutually acceptable resolution.

Engaged employees and diverse teams are key to ensuring that NASA remains innovative for years to come. Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are an excellent way to engage with the HQ community. ERGs provide outreach, mentoring, networking and development activities. The Equal Opportunity and Diversity Management (EODM) Division needs your feedback to determine whether there is support for starting the following three ERGs: 1) Individuals with Disabilities; 2) Asian American and Pacific Islanders; and 3) LGBT. Interested individuals are NOT required to be a member of the specific group, and ERG membership is open to all.
