What programs are offered?

The Fitness Center offers a comprehensive program dedicated to wellness and healthy living.  Among the programs are:

Group Exercise Classes cardiovascular and toning classes are offered 5 days a week, at lunchtime and occasionally in the afternoons.  Classes are held in the multipurpose room on the Concourse Level, CG69.  The group exercise program is one the most popular ways for members to stay fit.  Class formats are varied to appeal to a range of preferences and workout goals, and change regularly to stay current.  Some of the most dynamic and challenging classes include: Zumba, Pump it Up, Combination Training, Step, Abdominals, and Yoga.

Facility Orientations – participants are given a tour of the facility and instructions on proper and safe usage of the exercise equipment.

Fitness Assessments – all new and current members can take advantage of a baseline fitness test.  The fitness assessment is a functional exam, which evaluates one’s current physical capacities.  Measurements, such as body composition, blood pressure, strength, flexibility, endurance, and aerobic capacity, are used to establish and quantify your present level of fitness for the purpose of formulating an exercise program.  It can also be used for comparative measures, to keep track of one’s own personal fitness progress over time.

Exercise Programs – A personalized workout can be designed just for a member, tailored to meet his/her specific fitness needs and goals. The staff is additionally available for personal training assistance, by appointment, during workouts.

Health Education Wellness and healthy living is a large component of overall fitness.  Each month, the center focuses on numerous health education topics, in the form of bulletin board information, pamphlets, brochures, newsletters, and handouts.
The staff creates outreach programs to extend beyond The Fitness Center as well.  Examples of programs include the Great American Smoke-out “Kick the Stick” giveaways, fitness-related seminars, the annual Health Fair, and yoga classes.

Incentive ProgramsMany different types of incentive programs are offered to motivate members and keep fitness fun!  The staff creates unique contests, involving friendly competition, and awards certificates and prizes.  A few of the noted programs have included:  the Fitness Hollywood Squares game, Holiday Lift-A-Thon, Four Seasons Fitness Club, March Madness Exercise Extravaganza, and Exercise Across America.
