NASA Headquarters HEALTH AND SAFETY FAIR
Date: Thursday, June 19
Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: West Lobby, James E. Webb Auditorium, Multipurpose Room (CG69), and Glennan
                  Assembly and Conference Rooms (1O35 and 1Q39).
Come and participate in the 2014 NASA Headquarters Health and Safety Fair. All Headquarters employees and contractors are invited to attend. The fair will offer a range of health, safety, and wellness activities such as free screenings, seated massage, seminars, fitness classes, and demonstrations. Administrator Bolden will be speaking about Health and Safety at 12:00 PM in the James E. Webb Auditorium afterwards join him in the Nike Golf Challenge.

NASA Headquarters Building Lease and Renovation Project 
HQ BuildingThe Office of Headquarters Operations is proud to announce that a new lease agreement for the NASA HQ building at 300 E. Street has been signed with our current landlord, Piedmont. Now that the lease is signed, we have much to accomplish. We move now into the building renovation phase of this project, and will be designing a new floor plan using the green design concept endorsed by the NASA Administrator. Piedmont will be performing the construction which will include upgrading the building’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This is a whole-building renovation, and as such, will affect all occupants within the HQ building. The Facilities and Administrative Services Division has renovated their space on the first floor (Suite 1C40) to the green design concept which allows personnel to see how the new green design will look and feel.

Office Glass Washing Scheduled
Date: Monday, January 27 2014– Wednesday, February 26, 2014

This NASA HQ building-wide project begins on the 9th floor West side and ends on the 3rd Floor East side. All work will be done during the evening janitorial shift except for secure areas. Before work begins on your floor, please remove personal items from overhead storage bins and anything attached to the glass on the inside of the office or conference room. If you have a locked office, please have it unlocked during your scheduled window cleaning dates.

December 2010
In July 2012, the current NASA HQ building lease with Piedmont is scheduled to end. The Facilities and Administrative Services Division (FASD) has been working with General Services Administration (GSA) to obtain a lease renewal agreement. During the summer of 2010, GSA competitively announced the NASA HQ lease renewal to the local Washington D.C. property management industry. As a result of that competition, our current property management company, Piedmont, was offered another 15 year renewal opportunity in our current building. However, there are certain renovations that must be accomplished, and negotiations on the logistics of those renovations are currently underway, before the final lease contract is signed.
