The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a resource that offers free, confidential evaluation, short-term counseling, education, and referral services to Headquarters civil service employees and their families. Professional counselors assist employees and their families with problems that can adversely affect work and personal life. Often, employees find it useful to talk to a counselor who can provide objective feedback and a different perspective. EAP services are provided by Federal Occupational Health (FOH), using licensed and certified staff. An EAP counselor is available 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week, and can be reached by calling 1-800-222-0364. An EAP counselor is available on site at Headquarters on Thursdays and is located on the Concourse level within the Health Unit, room CD70.
The FOH Web site www.foh4you.com is a robust site that provides employees easy access to educational materials, self-assessments, tools, and specific information on available EAP and workplace topics and services. Later this year this site will become integrated with the Work Life 4 You site which is focused on search engines for caretaking, other concierge services for life events and access to discount services and items. Information on Work Life 4 You can be found at http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/hqhr/worklife4you.html.
