Aerospace Science & Technology Dictionary - This online dictionary includes definitions from the NASA Thesaurus and numerous NASA, NOAA and DOE dictionaries. It can only be accessed at NASA Headquarters.

Bartlett's Familiar Quotations and Simpson's Contemporary Quotations (at bartelby. com) -"A collection of passages, phrases, and proverbs traced to their sources in ancient and modern literature." 10th edition.

Dictionary (at InfoPlease) - Features more than 125,000 entries.

Dictionary of Technical Terms for Aerospace Use -Web version of the original 1965 publication, NASA SP-7.

Elements of Style (at bartelby.com) - "Gives in brief space the principal requirements of plain English style and concentrates attention on the rules of usage and principles of composition most commonly violated."

Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature - USGS/IAU/NASA site providing technical information and names of geologic features in the solar system.

Merriam-Webster Language Center - Access to Merriam-Webster dictionary and Thesaurus. 11th edition.

Symbols Encyclopedia - Covers more than 2,500 symbols and sign markings. Most include histories, uses, and meanings.


Databases & Catalogs

Dialog - Offers more than 450 databases on ALL subjects. Covers magazines, newspapers, newsletters, Dun & Bradstreet reports, organization information, statistics, scientific journals, biographies, patents, directories, international publications, and market research. Registered library patrons can request a search. Limited to NASA HQ employees.

EBSCOhost - A journal database indexing 1,400,000 articles. A few journals are available in full-text online. Articles from most other journals can be ordered through the database or requested from the Library. Limited to NASA HQ employees.

Ingenta - Free searching of nearly 30,000 journals from 1988 to the present. Most articles are pay-per-view.

NASA GALAXIE - NASA GALAXIE is our library catalog. It includes the collections of most NASA Center libraries. The catalog indexes books, journals, atlases, conferences, books-on-tape, video recordings, software, images, and print and electronic documents. It can only be accessed from a NASA computer. Limited to NASA employees.

NewJour - List of new journals and newsletters available on the Internet. Maintained by Ann Shumelda Okerson (Yale University) and James J. O'Donnell (University of Pennsylvania).
