Videos and Imagery
The most attention-grabbing products of NASA, bar none, are the pictures and videos produced by its years and years of spectacular projects, running from frail biplanes to magnificent Moon landings to probes winging their way to the stars. This webpage is a collection of resources for finding pictures, videos, and other imagery. Registered Library patrons can obtain videos through submitting a research request or an interlibrary loan request.
EROS Data Center Image Gallery - A collection of satellite images that record events of historic significance, beautiful sights or images that stir the imagination. Look under Products for additional sources of Earth images.
Goddard Multimedia - Goddard Space Flight Center videos on earth science, space science, and technology.
Great Images in NASA (GRIN) - Images of significant historical interest selected by the NASA History Office. Images are arranged by subject and NASA center and offered in a range of sizes.
Hubble Gallery - A database of Hubble images .
Image Collections, Johnson Space Center - Links to many searchable NASA photography and video sites at JSC and a few other sources.
Image Gallery, Dryden Flight Research Center - This archive contains digitized images, movies, and drawings of many of the unique research aircraft flown from the 1940s to the present at the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center.
Image Gallery, Glenn Research Center - This collection is maintained by the GRC Public Affairs office and includes images of GRC's facilities, technology, aircraft, people and space flight operations support.
ISS EarthKAM Image Collections - Collection of images taken with the ISS EarthKAM, plus others.
Langley Research Center Multimedia Repository - A searchable database of photos, images, and movies documenting NASA and NACA research at Langley Research Center.
Lunar & Planetary Institute - Full-text documents, meeting abstracts, information bulletins, and image databases from this Institute, part of the Universities Space Research Association.
Mars Exploration Program Image Gallery - An indexed source of many Mars photographs taken by NASA spacecraft; including, the Viking Landers, Mars Pathfinder, Mars Odyssey, the Mars Global Surveyor and the Mars Exploration Rovers.
Multimedia Gallery, Kennedy Space Center - Includes photographs, videos and posters. Information on purchasing hard copies is located at the bottom of the page.
Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes (MAST) - database of data and images from Hubble and other astronomical missions maintained by the Space Telescope Science Institute.
NASA CORE (Central Operation of Resources for Teachers) - NASA CORE is a worldwide distribution center for NASA multimedia educational materials. For a nominal fee, CORE will provide educators with materials through its mail order service. CORE is jointly sponsored by NASA and the Lorain County Joint Vocational School in Oberlin, Ohio.
Planetary Data System, Jet Propulsion Lab - Images, data sets, and animations.
Video Repository, Johnson Space Center - Search by subject or scene list or browse by series title. Includes ordering information.
Visualization of Remote Sensing Data (VRSD) - The visualizations are derived from satellite data which has been color-enhanced or otherwise processed to yield high-impact renderings of hurricanes and other natural phenomena. Because of this processing, these images should be viewed more as works of art than as raw data suitable for quantitative analysis. VRSD is an outgrowth of a past NASA program, Public Use of Remote Sensing Data (RSD).
Welcome to the Planets, Jet Propulsion Lab - Images and facts about the planets.
Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) - Each day a new image or photograph is featured. A searchable archive of past pictures is available too.
Drawings & Technical Diagrams - Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab and the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project.
Earth Observatory - This NASA Goddard Space Flight Center site offers new satellite imagery and scientific information about our home planet focusing on Earth's climate and environmental change. "Materials published on the Earth Observatory are freely available for re-publication or re-use, except where copyright is indicated."
NASA Multimedia - Includes links to images, videos, podcasts, and NASA TV.
NASA TV- Provides real-time coverage of Agency activities and missions as well as resource video to the news media, and educational programming to teachers, students and the general public.
Nine Planets - offers images and facts about the planets and the solar system.
Solar System Live - An interactive orrery by John Walker at Fourmilab. "You can view the entire Solar System, or just the inner planets (through the orbit of Mars). Controls allow you to set time and date, viewpoint, observing location, orbital elements to track an asteroid or comet, and a variety of other parameters."
Solar System Simulator, Jet Propulsion Lab - Creates images of objects in the solar system based your selected spacecraft/planet/moon and date.
Space Science Education Resource Directory - Catalog designed for educators seeking NASA's space science educational resources. It will help you locate Internet-based resources, such as Web pages, PDFs, videos, and CD-ROMs. Includes ordering information.
USGS Maps & Photos - links to databases of maps and aerial photos offered by businesses working in conjuction with the U.S. Geological Survey.
Your Sky - An interactive planetarium by John Walker at Fourmilab. Creates a sky map for any given location at any time.
