CICO is a Web-based application that automates and consolidates the various permissions and service requests necessary to get a new employee settled with a computer, phone, network folder access, and office space. It enables current HQ users to request additional equipment, moves, and other services. Finally, it improves and simplifies the out-processing of employees, and helps maximize recovery of government-owned equipment.
Some of the functionality currently performed in CICO has been transferred to the NASA Account Management System (NAMS). NAMS is the Agency’s centralized system for requesting and maintaining accounts for NASA IT systems and applications.

- Creation of Check In and Check Out records for incoming and departing employees
- Shared access to network folders
- Requests for physical assets such as computers, telephones, or BlackBerry device
- Non-application requests such as relocation of assets with office moves
