Microsoft Lync/Skype for Business Workshops

"Lync" for Macintosh and "Skype for Business" for Windows are the Agency solutions for Instant Messaging (IM) and Web Conferencing. With IM, presence, and meeting capabilities in one client, you can choose and switch between different forms of communication, making it easy to connect and collaborate with colleagues both inside and outside NASA. All NASA users running Windows 7 or any Mac OS X have the capability to use these Lync and Skype features.

HANDS-ON TRAINING

Skype 2013 for Windows: Link with Colleagues Using Skype for Business 2013
Level: Basic

Course Description: This workshop is geared toward Windows users with VTS seats (Web conferencing hosts) transitioning from WebEx to Skype for Business. The workshop will cover these topics: create Web conferences; share your desktop or an application; transfer a file to all participants in the chat; create chats and meeting rooms with one user, multiple users, or large groups of people; refer back to the chat using Conversation History; make Skype calls; and work with presence indicators.

Course Description:  Create chats and meeting rooms with one user, multiple users, or large groups of people; create web conferences using Lync Web App; share your desktop; transfer a file to NASA participants in the chat; refer back to the chat using Conversation History; make calls to those logged in to Lync; and work with presence status indicators.

REGISTER IN SATERN


Need help locating and registering for classes or workshops in SATERN?  Follow these instructions:

  1. Log in to SATERN.
  2. Search for the designated search term (shown above) in the Catalog box in the upper right corner.
  3. Locate your desired course offering in the list and click Add to Learning Plan at the far right.
  4. Your Learning Plan will be displayed.  Under No Due Date, click on the course title you just added.
  5. Item Details will appear.  Click View Offerings.
  6. Available sessions will appear.  Click the blue Register button to the right of a session you wish to attend.
  7. The Registration screen appears.  Click the yellow Confirm button in the bottom right corner.
