The NASA HQ Computer Training Center offers various levels of training in Microsoft Outlook. New workshops are currently being developed and will be added to this page when available.

Note: Students must bring NASA issued laptop with appropriate software installed.

Outlook 2013 for Windows: All Around Outlook

Course Description: Bring your laptop to this training session to work hands-on. The Backstage view; tabs and ribbons; Navigation Pane, Quick Access toolbar, Reading Pane, and To-Do Bar; Mail tools including the out of office assistant, e-mail signatures; customizing toolbars and views, sorting, filtering, and search tools (Search Folders and Advanced Find); creating sub-folders; working with the Calendar preferences, creating appointments, meetings and recurring patterns; working with Contact preferences, creating new Contacts and Contact Groups, arranging the Address Book, and sharing Contacts; creating Tasks and creating a task from a message.

Virtual Classroom: A Lync online meeting room and teleconference number can be provided by request.  Contact the CTC at 358-1111, at least 24 hours in advance, if you would like to attend online.

Registration: Register in SATERN (search "around outlook"). Availability is offered on a first-come first-serve basis. Click here for help with searching and registering in SATERN.

Outlook 2013 for Windows: Outlook Data Management

Course Description: For Office 2010 and Office 2013 users. Learn how to take charge of your Outlook data. Learn how to use tools for archiving, clean-up, advanced search, and more. Understand the ramifications of a "large" mailbox and folders, and learn about PST files. Note: Let the trainer know if you are an Office 2010 user, and the training will be modified accordingly for you.

REGISTER IN SATERN


Need help locating and registering for classes or workshops in SATERN?  Follow these instructions:

  1. Log in to SATERN.
  2. Search for the designated search term (shown above) in the Catalog box in the upper right corner.
  3. Locate your desired course offering in the list and click Add to Learning Plan at the far right.
  4. Your Learning Plan will be displayed.  Under No Due Date, click on the course title you just added.
  5. Item Details will appear.  Click View Offerings.
  6. Available sessions will appear.  Click the blue Register button to the right of a session you wish to attend.
  7. The Registration screen appears.  Click the yellow Confirm button in the bottom right corner.
