Microsoft PowerPoint Workshops

The NASA HQ Computer Training Center offers various levels of training in Microsoft PowerPoint.

Note: Students must bring NASA issued laptop with appropriate software installed.

PowerPoint 2013 for Windows: Simply Slides

(Basic)

PowerPoint 2013 for Windows: Powerful Professional Presentations

(All Levels)



PowerPoint 2013 for Windows: En Pointe with PowerPoint!
Level: Advanced

Course Description: In this workshop, you will learn advanced features of PowerPoint 2013. Learn how to easily control formatting with Master Slides, change the slide size, and add interest to your presentations with embedded video, music, and Excel spreadsheets. Learn about file sharing and Lync 2013 integration. Learn new features in PowerPoint 2013 like combining presentations and Presenter View. Finally, we will discuss how to work with presentations created in older versions of PowerPoint.

Virtual Classroom: A Skype online meeting room and teleconference number can be provided by request.  Contact the CTC at 358-1111, at least 24 hours in advance, if you would like to attend online.

PowerPoint 2013 for Windows: Simply Slides
Level: Basic

Course Description: In this workshop, you will learn how to create slides with tables from Word or Excel, create slides with charts with data from several sources, build SmartArt and convert a bulleted list to SmartArt, insert pictures from a file or from the web, and insert Videos from a file or using embedded code.

PowerPoint 2013 for Windows: Powerful Professional Presentations
Level: All levels

Course Description: In this workshop you will learn tips, pitfalls and the best practices for drafting and presenting professional PowerPoint presentations. You will also learn hands-on how to build animation and transitions into your slideshow. Also included are guidelines and recommendations for presenters.

REGISTER IN SATERN


Need help locating and registering for classes or workshops in SATERN?  Follow these instructions:

  1. Access SATERN.
  2. Click the red Log Into SATERN icon.
  3. An “Attention” notice will appear | click Continue.
  4. Type the designated search term (shown above) in the Search Catalog box in the upper right corner and click Go.
  5. Locate the desired course in the results listing and click on a course title.
  6. Click Register Now and available offerings will appear. Click Register Now on the course you wish to register for.
  7. A confirmation screen will appear. Click Confirm to complete your registration.
