Reminder: Leave Your Mac Computer “On” For NCAD Migration Tonight – July 15, 2009
Macintosh users migrating to NCAD on July 15, 2009
July 15, 2009
You are scheduled for migration to the new NASA Consolidated Active Directory tonight after 6 p.m.
Migration requires a Desktop Support Technician to work directly on your workstation. If your computer is behind a locked door, or if a schedule conflict has developed please send an e-mail to HQ-DL-NCAD-POC immediately.
In order to migrate successfully, leave your computer powered-on. Restart your computer before you leave the office, as shown below. Laptops must be in their docking station. If you have more than one workstation, please follow these instructions for all of your Macintosh workstations:
1) From the Apple icon, select “Restart…” from the drop down menu.
2) When the message “Are you sure you want to restart your computer now?” appears, click the “Restart” button.
3) You do not need to wait for the computer to finish restarting before you leave the office. It’s important that you do NOT turn off the power to the computer!
Tomorrow morning, you will find a flyer on your computer(s) notifying you of the success or failure of this migration attempt. Macintosh computers require a password reset in order for migration to occur. Listen to your voicemail prior to booting your Macintosh computer tomorrow morning, in order to retrieve your new password.
From now on, whenever you login to Outlook Web Access, Share Point, Check In Check Out or Citrix, you will need to manually identify the NDC domain. Please see Instructions for Macintosh Users After Migration to NCAD.
