PRINTER SERVICES |

There are several types of printer services and providers at NASA Headquarters. This page outlines the various options, and provides instructions for obtaining products and/or services as well as who to contact for assistance.

ACES-PROVIDED PRINTERS |
|

|
|
|
Network and standalone printers provide basic black-and-white and/or color printing options at varying performance levels. Printers provided under the Agency Consolidated End-user Services (ACES) contract are identified with an ACES asset tag.
Network printers are strategically positioned throughout the building. Standalone printers and desktop network printers are available for users with special requirements. Standalone printers not connected to the network require a waiver granted by the Information Technology and Communication Division (more information coming soon).
Request New Printer:
- General Users: Contact your organization’s IT POC
- IT POCs:
Return Printer: Submit a service request using the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) Web site:
- Go to the ESD Web site
- Select “Order Services” (a pop-up window will appear)
- Select “Other ACES Services”
- Select “Other ACES Services” again
- Select “Request Now”
- In the field labeled “Which service would you like to order?” select “De-Subscribe Seat”
- In the field labeled “Please provide details,” enter your request. Include the printer asset tag and serial numbers (located on the printer)
- Click “Submit”
Support: Contact the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD):
Toner: ACES monitors all printers and provides toner as needed. If toner is not available, submit a ticket using the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) Web site:
- Go to the ESD Web site
- Select “My Tickets”
- Select “Myself”
- Type a description of the issue: specify room number, color of toner that is empty, and identify the printer model number and asset tag
- Choose the Urgency of “Low”
- Choose Category 1 of “Printer”
- Choose Category 2 of “Hardware Failure”
- Click “Create a Ticket”

MULTI-FUNCTION DEVICES (MFDs) |

|
Multi-Function Devices (MFDs) combine the functionality of network printing, faxing, copying, and scanning capabilities with black-and-white and color output in desktop and floor models.

Request New MFD: N/A
Support: Contact the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD):
Toner: ACES monitors all printers and provides toner as needed. If toner is not available, submit a ticket using the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) Web site:
- Go to the ESD Web site
- Select “My Tickets”
- Select “Myself”
- Type a description of the issue: specify room number, color of toner that is empty, and identify the printer model number and asset tag
- Choose the Urgency of “Low”
- Choose Category 1 of “Printer”
- Choose Category 2 of “Hardware Failure”
- Click “Create a Ticket”

GOVERNMENT-FURNISHED EQUIPMENT (GFE) PRINTERS |

GFE or Government-owned printers (not ACES-provided) are devices purchased directly by an organization and are not supported by ACES.
Request New Printer:
- General Users: Contact your organization’s IT POC
- IT POCs:
Troubleshooting: Support is not provided for GFE printers. However, the ACES team will troubleshoot to determine if the problem is computer-related. Repair/replacement services are not within the scope of the ACES contract. If troubleshooting does not correct the problem, contact your organization’s IT POC for alternative solutions.
Toner: To order replacement toner:
- AMMS (Advanced Materials Management System) Each organization has a designated office supply ordering representative. Must provide serial number of printer in need of toner.
- PCMall: www.PCMallgov.com
- ACES Product Catalog (APC): Submit a service request using the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD). (details coming soon)
Excess GFE Printers: To excess an old, broken or unwanted government-owned printer:
- Unwanted printers: Contact your organization’s IT POC so they can determine if someone else in your organization can utilize it. IT POCs should contact the HITSS Property Manager(s) to have the printer transferred in the inventory database.
- Broken printers: Submit a request in the Facilities Help Desk System (FHDS) to have the printer picked up. Once received in the Receiving and Inspection area, the HITSS Property Manager(s) will update the inventory database.
- Access the HQ Facilities Help Desk System: https://fhds.hq.nasa.gov
- Click Trouble Call | Create New.
- From the Problem Type menu, select Move Services.
- From the Problem Location menu, select the correct floor | In the text box, type the exact room location.
- In the Problem Description text box, type the following:
“Please pick up printer [enter tag #] from _____ [enter your location] and deliver to Receiving and Inspection in 1P54.”
- In the Desired Completion Date text field, type the date you would like the device picked up.
- At the bottom, click Submit.

ADDING OR INSTALLING A PRINTER |

Connect to a printer so you can print to it from your computer.
Add/Install NASA Printers: Most computers are typically configured to print to nearby printers/MFDs in your physical area. If necessary, you may request to have additional printers/MFDs added to your computer.
Submit a service request using the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) Web site:
- Go to the ESD Web site
- Select “Order Services” (a pop-up window will appear)
- Select “Other ACES Services”
- Select “Other ACES Services” again
- Select “Request Now”
- In the field labeled “Which service would you like to order?” select “Other”
- In the field labeled “Please provide details,” enter your request to add a printer. Include the printer name/location (located on the printer).
Add Home Printers: To add/install home printers on your NASA laptop, you must have Elevated Privileges. (details coming soon). |

ORDERING PRINTER PAPER |

Copier/printer paper is delivered on a regular basis for ACES-provided printers and MFDs. Paper must be ordered for GFE printers.
To order paper, use one of the following options; specify quantity and location:
