  NAC Institutional Committee

The NAC Institutional Committee is a new committee of the NASA Advisory Council supporting the advisory needs of the NASA Administrator and the Mission Support Directorate. The scope of the Committee includes all mission support activities at NASA.

The Committee operates under the Terms of Reference that are approved by the NASA Administrator and the NAC annual work plan, which includes topics for Committee meetings. The Committee is managed under procedures that ensure the same spirit of openness and public accountability that is embodied by the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). This includes public meetings and public access to Committee records.

The Institutional Committee meets three times a year, usually several days before the meeting of the full NASA Advisory Council. Meetings are announced on this website, as well as in the Federal Register. The Committee members are appointed by the Administrator of NASA, and represent a wealth of experience and expertise. Committee members are appointed for two years.
