INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ROUNDTABLE

WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT -- February 2, 2004

The IT Roundtable will hold a workshop at NASA Headquarters on the following topic:

BEST PRACTICES WITH THE FEDERAL INFORMATION SECURITY MANAGEMENT ACT (FISMA)

FISMA directs IGs or their designee to perform an annual independent evaluation of the information security program and practices of their agencies, including a review of an appropriate subset of agency systems. Various individuals from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and IG organizations will provide information on current FISMA-related activities and share their views on fulfilling IG FISMA responsibilities. Specific workshop topics include:
