Travel Safety Advisory
Recently there were two separate incidents where NASA HQ employees had their purses stolen on business trips, one in a hotel and the other while filling up a rental car at a gas station.  Fortunately, both are safe and uninjured but their personal belongings and some NASA property were stolen.

All employees are cautioned to be more aware of their surroundings as they travel and they can find many travel safety tips by checking Internet search engines and visiting websites like the following examples:

http://www.allbusiness.com/379-1.html

http://businesstravel.about.com/od/travelsafetyhealth/a/travel_safety.htm

http://www.tdi.state.tx.us/pubs/videoresource/fsbiztravelt.pdf

http://www.kevincoffee.com/women_safety/travel_safety_tips_for_women.htm

If you are a crime victim at any time away from your office, immediately contact the local police and your centers’ Security Office and report the incident.  If you are visiting or are close to another center, you should also notify that centers’ Security Office as well, providing them with details of any missing NASA property (badge, cell phone, etc).
