During the life of the Mercury Project, several million people have unselfishly contributed their knowledge, skill, and ingenuity to make this pioneering space project a successful national effort. The people came from all walks of life; they came from government agencies, from industrial organizations, and from many educational institutions. Also, valuable cooperation has been received from a number of people and governments of other nations to enable the accomplishment of the essential support activities around the earth. Each person is to be commended for his untiring efforts and his unfaltering faith in the ultimate successful fulfillment of the objectives of the project.
