Asteroid and Comet Impact Hazards -
NASA Ames Science Division comprehensive site featuring congressional testimony, survey reports, fact sheets, and links.

Asteroid Observing Services at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, AZ led by Dr. Ted Bowell with NASA funding.

NASA Program Status -
On May 21, 1998 NASA's Science Director for Solar System Exploration Dr. Carl Pilcher presented testimony before the House Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics. Included in his testimony is a program status report of NASA's ongoing ground-based NEO (Near Earth Orbit) search programs.

NASA Fact Sheet -
Summarizes definitions for celestial bodies such as comets and asteroids, what NASA is doing to study them, and how much of a threat they really are.

NEAT System -
Near Earth Asteroid Tracking (NEAT) system operated by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in conjunction with the U.S. Air Force on Mt. Haleakala, Maui, HI.

POETRY's "Ask the Scientist"-
NASA's "Public Outreach, Education, Teaching and Reaching Youth (POETRY)" program offers opportunities to "Ask the Scientist" questions related to comets and asteroids.

The Spacewatch Project-
The University of Arizona's Spacewatch Observatory led by Dr. Tom Gehrels with funding from NASA.

Responsible for the collection, computation, checking and dissemination of astrometric observations and orbits for minor planets and comets. Includes lists of closest approaches to Earth.

The SPACEGUARD Foundation -
An association aimed at the protection of the Earth environment against the bombardment of objects of the solar system (comets and asteroids).

Space Shield Foundation (SSF) -
Private Russian foundation promoting scientific research and technology development on hazards due to asteroid and comet impacts.

Tunguska: Cosmic Mystery of the Century -
Combines research from a number of global (and many Russian) scientists with a bulletin board and other information dealing with the Tunguska event.
