Use in Color
One Color Insignia
The NASA Insignia can be reproduced from this web site. Original reproduction proofs, transparencies or digital files can also be obtained from the Visual Identity Coordinator at NASA Headquarters or the graphics Coordinators Agency-wide.
In one color Printing, the NASA Insignia may be reproduced in most colors. However, exceptionally bright colors are not recommended.
Full Color Insignia
The NASA Insignia consists of two basic colors:
PMS185 (red) and PMS 286 (blue).
The Insignia can also be reproduced in a 4 color process build:
Red 100 magenta + 100 yellow
Blue 100 cyan + 60 magenta
When using the NASA Insignia in full color, the Insignia should be displayed against a white, black, gray (PMS 423) or silver (PMS 877) background only.
A full color Insignia should never appear against a full color photograph and a white line should never appear around the full color insignia.
Duotone and One Color Photography
When a one color photograph or duotone is used, the
Insignia should appear in black without a white line
around it on a light or medium-valued portion of the
background.
Alternatively, the Insignia can be rendered in the
background color of a photograph when the background
is relatively uncluttered. In this case, the Insignia may or
may not appear with a white line around it (depending
on the darkness of the background color value).
