By 1912, there are 48 states. America becomes an industrial power, and the great European migration begins. Victorian ideals of the "weaker sex" hold strong. Women and labor organize. Railroads open America, and 430 million acres are settled in the West. On December 17, 1903, the Wright brothers open the skies, and a new way of life is born.
