USE OF STANDARD FORM (SF) 1449, SOLICITATION/CONTRACT/ORDER
FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS
PURPOSE: To provide a deviation to the requirement to use the SF 1449, Solicitation/contract/ order for Commercial Items, for commercial item buys under $100,000.
BACKGROUND: FAR 12.204, Solicitation/contract form, requires the use of the SF 1449, Solicitation/contract/order for Commercial Items, for all acquisitions of commercial items. This PIC provides a deviation to that requirement for commercial item buys under $100,000. This does not constitute authority, however, to deviate from the provisions and clauses prescribed by FAR Part 12 to be used in commercial item acquisitions.
EFFECTIVE DATE: This PIC is effective as dated and automatically expires on June 30, 1997, unless extended, superseded, or canceled.
