HTML Page Templates and Source Files
Source code and detailed specifications have been created for use by web designers and developers able to adopt a higher level of visual affinity. These create pages on a black background with a centered white area that is 750 pixels wide. Content areas within each template can be moved or resized ad hoc, based on individual site requirements. However, detailed specifications recommend retaining the position and format of the banner, footer, promotional banner and navigation, along with font usage and color palette, for a higher level of affinity.
Each downloadable zip file contains the following assets: HTML template, JavaScript files, CSS files and most of the graphics used in the template. The common graphics used throughout the templates are hosted on a NASA server. Each reference to those images in the templates is a link to the image location on that server. By linking to the images on the server you can be assured that your affinity website always displays the most current file versions. The location and size of these images won't change; it is safe to use them throughout your websites with no risk of broken links or distorted sizes.
All common images are available in a downloadable zip file for designers and developers who are more comfortable serving the files locally. Common image files include: NASA logo banner (used in header), "Find it @ NASA" search title, "Go" search button, FirstGov logo, NASA logo (used in footer) and the spacer.gif file used for layout.
