About the CMS
The principle of content management -- for the Portal and the large NASA web space -- is simple: NASA content creators
and site managers must make material intended for the Portal's audiences -- the general public, students, teachers, kids
and the news media -- available to the Portal through its Content Management System (CMS).
NASA's CMS, specifically known as the Digital Asset Management system (DAM) was created by eTouch Systems, Inc. The DAM,
or CMS as it's more often called, allows content providers to put their content on the NASA portal with little or no
knowledge of HTML. Additionally, the system's templated structure and workflow ensure that content is presented on the
portal in an accurate and timely manner.
Additional information about the CMS, including training, documentation, and support, can be found via the links on
the left-hand side of this page.
CMS Training
Training classes on the CMS may be arranged by contacting Celeste Merryman.
CMS Quality Control
Documents published through the CMS must undergo a quality control step - occasionally these folks may need to contact you or you may
wish to contact them regarding issues with style, broken links, etc. in your document. The QC team for the NASA Portal is as follows:
Support: Lauretta Payne, e-mail: Lauretta Payne
Support: Laura Vicik, e-mail: Laura Vicik
