"An iterative design and testing approach also allows one to make steady and rapid progress on a project, to learn through empirical evidence, and to 'shape' the product to fit the end users' abilities, expectations and aptitude."

Usability Overview

How is Usability Determined?

There are several different usability testing methods that can be used to identify problems in a web site. The foundation of usability testing is based on:
  • Find representative users to be your test participants

  • Ask the users to perform typical tasks in the site

  • Observe what the users do. Where do they have problems and why? Where are they successful and why? Probe test participants to vocalize their decision making process.
