Larry Jordan

I was born the same year as NASA, and so space exploration has always been part of my life. I spent most weekend nights growing up peering through my telescope at the moon, the planets, and other celestial wonders, and dreaming of a future in space. As NASA has changed over the years, so have I: I earned a degree in Mathematics from Humboldt State University, and now work as a UPS (United Parcel Service) driver in wonderful Astoria, Oregon. My life is still full of dreams of space and adventure; I have taken to mountaineering to satisfy some of that desire. My friend Matt Gleason, remembering the red helmets of Apollo 9, once saw one of my climbing pictures, and commented, "Now I understand why you climb...".
