About the FAIR Act Inventories
The annual Federal Activities Inventory Reform (FAIR) Inventories are required
by the Federal Activities Inventory Reform Act of 1998 (P.L. 105-270) and OMB
Circular A-76 - Competitive Sourcing, dated May 29, 2003. Each inventory is a
tool for assisting an agency in gathering an accurate breakdown of its employees
by function or activity looking at which functions are Inherently Governmental
and which are not. Each inventory covers July 1 of the previous year to June 30
of the year stated on the inventory involved. Additional current guidance (no
updates since March 26, 2012) is at:
